Selling a car

How to prepare your vehicle's history before selling

Before you sell your vehicle, organize its service history, documents, costs, and notification confirmations. This makes buyer conversations clearer and reduces post-sale confusion.

Guidance for vehicle owners in Poland
01

Prepare history for the buyer

Export the history or prepare a summary of major repairs, regular maintenance, consumables, inspection, insurance, and current mileage.

  • Do not hide important defects. History does not replace inspection or diagnostics.
  • Separate private documents from files you want to share with a buyer.
02

Organize documents

Find the registration document, OC policy, service confirmations, larger invoices, additional-equipment documents, and all keys.

  • Review attachments containing personal data before sharing.
  • Prepare a simple list of items transferred with the car.
03

After sale

Keep the sale date, a contract copy, and confirmation of notifications sent to the authority and insurer.

  • Confirm current formal deadlines in official sources.
  • Archive the vehicle only after saving every record and document you still need.
